Presentation Night 24th November 2023

The Wike Ridge Golf Club Presentation Night was held on Friday 24th November.

Over 80 people attended an event which saw over 50 trophies presented by Jeff Laverack and Joan Ashurst, our two Captains, to people of all ages and abilities who had performed well in the 2023 season.

The evening started with 4 trophies for the Tiger Cubs and then moved on to the ladies and mixed competitions. Highlights for the ladies included multiple trophy winners Tracey Frost and Karen Want. There was also a trophy for Junior Player of the Year which went to Lulu Woodrow and Ava McDaid.

For the men Arron Leefe was named Club Champion and he also claimed two other trophies with Andrew Dunsmore, David Higgins, Phil Jewitt, Jack Hall and Tom Tindell also been multiple winners.

The Club Award for outstanding service went to Brian Slater for his all-round contribution to the club over many years.

Performances in external competitions were also recognised with special mention to the Ladies A team winning promotion, Dawn Potter and David Quayle winning the Leeds District Griffin Trophy and for the men’s 8-15 team who won their league championship for the first time.

A big thank-you to all who helped organise the competitions and run the teams and a special well done to everyone who participated.
